JagerCon A-Listed in City Pages AND Vita.mn

The media loves nerds and we love the media!

City Pages says:

It's sometimes hard to find your place on the barhopping circuit when you are a geek, a freak, or a nerd. But that doesn't mean we don't enjoy a beer over a lengthy discussion on the use of bezoars in literature or why you ship Buffy/Spike over Buffy/Angel. Thankfully Clubhouse Jäger plans to turn Tuesday nights into a nerd summit for the socially awkward, overly enthusiastic, and sexy-but-bookish out there. Hosted by l'etoile magazine's Kate Iverson and Beth Hammarlund, Sci-Fi Tuesdays will feature screenings of sci-fi movies plus two-for-ones throughout the night. This week's screening is MirrorMask, a coming-of-age tale about a girl sucked into a visually stunning, bizarre alternate universe. Yeah, it's a Dave McKean/Neil Gaiman collaboration. Following weeks will feature the director's cut of Bladerunner, and a double-header screening of Forbidden Planet and Angry Red Planet. Twelve-sided dice and strong opinions on gaming strategies optional. 21+.

Vita.mn says:

L’Etoile Magazine’s new weekly night at Clubhouse Jäger encourages you to embrace your inner nerd. Nerdettes Kate Iverson and Beth Hammarlund of L’Etoile will screen their favorite nerdy movies and TV shows, including “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” “Dr. Who,” “Battlestar Galactica,” “Firefly,” “Star Trek” and more, plus two-for-one drink specials all night. This week’s screening is “MirrorMask,” the 2005 fantasy film written by Twin Cities author Neil Gaiman. It wouldn’t be L’Etoile if it weren’t stylish, so expect hipster lens-less eyeglasses rather than the real thing. -Jahna Peloquin

While we're on the topic, check out the trailer for this week's flick, Mirrormask, from the amazing mind of Neil Gaiman!
